Pathogens are everywhere even in the blood. Do you know how to protect yourself and others from them? This course is for people who have a reasonable chance of coming into contact with blood or blood-containing materials as part of their job responsibilities. This course is composed of 2 parts. First Part is General Training, provided by us. Second part is conducted at the company location and is called Site-Specific Training. It covers additional site-specific information available in the company's Exposure Control Plan. We Provide General Training at our location for workers in Commercial marketplace. Students receive a course manual for this course. The Student Workbook uses the Site-Specific Information Icon to indicate that there is additional Site-Specific information available at the company. Small Private Companies, Clinics, Facilities may contact us to provide their employes with General Training ( up to 10 people per group, number of groups is unlimited.) All students will get Participation Cards upon completion of the Course. General Training is video based and instructor led. The Course will cover the following: 1. Define Bloodborne Pathogen 2. Describe 4 main steps ( PROTECT, ACT,CLEAN, TELL )for staying safe when facing an occupational exposure. 3. Discuss how Universal Precautions, Personal Protective Equipment, and Hand Washing can protect from infection. 4.Recognize Warning Signs and labels for Biohazards 5. How to safely remove gloves 6. Discuss how to dispose Sharps ( needles and etc.) and other blood-containing items 7. Identify the types of Spills and methods to clean them. 8. Discuss the Exposure Control Plan. 9. Discuss Possible Scenarios and Reviews.( Optional) 10. Optional Exam ( requested by employer)
